Dubai Metro which opened on September 9, 2009, was one of the landmarks projects of the Roads and Transport Authority. With more projects and initiatives to improve public transport in the city, the RTA will be celebrating its 15th anniversary on Sunday (November 1, 2020), which also marks the 11th Public Transport Day in Dubai.

The 5-stage extension of Route 2020 will connect certain prime spots and locations such as the Discovery Gardens, Al Furjan, Jumeirah Golf Estates, and The Dubai Investment Park.
The seven stations on the route include Jebel Ali Station; The Gardens Station; Discovery Gardens Station; Al Furjan Station; Jumeirah Golf Estates Station; Dubai Investment Park Station and Expo Station.
The spacious interior will accommodate up to 125,000 commuters per day in 2021. Once open, Jumeirah Golf Estates station will be the biggest along the Dubai Metro network and will stretch 226 meters.
